During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A Chandra press release was issued on Feb 14 describing Chandra observations that address the long-standing missing matter problem. The analysis suggests that the missing matter is in the form of a filamentary Warm-Hot Intergalactic Medium (WHIM). The team was able to stack 17 Chandra X-ray spectra to reveal the extremely weak absorption signature which signals the presence of the WHIM. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/press/19_releases/press_021419.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Sco X-1 coordinated with Global VLBI. |
