During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were executed on Aug 19 and Aug 28 to perform full-frame dark current readouts of the Aspect Camera Assembly CCD.

A Chandra image release was issued on Aug 26 showing results from Chandra observations of the supernova remnant Casseopeia A. The shock-heated debris from this explosion of a massive star glows brightly at multiple wavelengths, including X-rays. From Chandra's iconic "first light" image released Aug 26, 1999 to the present, Chandra has repeatedly returned to study this object, in the process revealing a great deal about the physics of the explosion, the elemental composition of debris, and the remnant central neutron star. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of V1369Cen, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jul 29, and an observation of V3890Sgr, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Aug 29.
