During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed during each ground contact to reset the DSN Outage Dead Man Load. This is a new procedure to protect the spacecraft in the case of an unexpected sustained loss of DSN communication with the spacecraft. A NASA press release was issued Apr 3 discussing NASA's approach to operations during the COVID-19 emergency. Specifically, Chandra continues to carry out normal science operations. Chandra's annual peer review will be held in June with participants joining remotely. For details see: https://chandra.si.edu/press/20_releases/press_040320science.html A Chandra press release was issued on Apr 8 discussing Chandra and XMM-Newton observations indicating non-uniformity in the expansion of the universe. Astronomers using X-ray data from these orbiting observatories studied hundreds of galaxy clusters, the largest structures in the universe held together by gravity, and how their apparent properties differ across the sky. Based on the cluster observations observers may have found differences in how fast the universe is expanding depending on direction.
