During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to incorporate an observation of SGR 1935+2154, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Apr 28. Time from scheduled observations of H1821+643 and Spiderweb were impacted by the replan and will be rescheduled in a future week. Real-time procedures were executed during each ground contact to reset the DSN Outage Dead Man Load. A Chandra press release was issued on Apr 29 describing a new app to allow anyone to virtually "meet" women who have blazed trails in space and related science fields. This has been released through a collaboration between the Smithsonian and NASA. This augmented reality (AR) app allows users to explore the universe and unlock the often-overlooked stories of women and their contributions to space exploration and science. For details see: https://chandra.harvard.edu/press/20_releases/press_042920reach.html The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Liller 1, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Apr 20 and an observation of PKS 1413+135, which is a follow-up to a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity which was accepted on Oct 18. |
