Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 24 January 2025 9.00am EST

Operations CXO Status Report, 24 Jan 2025, 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jan 24 to re-enable all MUPS thrusters in Normal Sun Mode. Previously only the cool-side thrusters (3 and 4) had been initially enabled. The update enables the hot-side thrusters (1 and 2) after a 2 hour cool down period at 160 degrees solar pitch angle and reduces the risk of an ineffective momentum auto-unload.

Chandra passed through the second, third, and fourth eclipses of the season on Jan 18, 21, and 23, respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below, and includes an observation of EP250108a, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jan 17.
