Operations CXO Status Report

Wednesday 6 October 1999 2.00pm EST

During the last 24 hours Chandra passed out the radiation belts, completed an ACIS CTI measurement and began observing SN1987A with the ACIS and HETG. Real-time monitoring of the data indicated a high count rate, and a new ACIS parameter block to select a different mode was uplinked after consultation with the GTO. This observation will continue until 5.30PM 10/7. The next eclipse is scheduled to occur at 2.51AM on 10/8 and will last 49 minutes.

The mission schedule for the next set of command loads is near completion and will go for review today. This schedule will commence at approx 4PM 10/8.

The spacecraft systems continued to operate nominally.
