During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.
Real time procedures were completed on 5 Sept to uplink the short eclipse patches for the A and B-side OBC in preparation for the lunar eclipse on Sept 7. A contingency patch was also uplinked. The 39 minute eclipse will occur on Sept 7 at 11:55am and be monitored in real-time by the Flight team. Of note last week was the MSFC Independent Annual Review for Chandra held at the OCC during Sept 4-5. The preliminary findings of the IAR were provided to the Chandra team and indicated no major areas of concern. The formal report and findings are expected to be presented to the MSFC PMC in October. The observing schedule for next week is shown below and includes a near full orbit (150 Ks) observation of the radio quiet QSO MR2251-17.8. |
