Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 26 November 2004 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Chandra passed through the 2004 Leonids meteor shower without incident on Nov 19. No action was required for this year\'s passage since the projected meteoroid fluence was sufficiently low.

A Chandra press release was issued on Nov 22 describing observations of the distant quasar J1306 that indicate the presence of a billion solar mass black hole. The result provides evidence that supermassive black holes were fully grown less than a billion years after the Big Bang. For details see: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2004/j1306/

The schedule of targets for next week is shown below and includes an observation of M31 coordinated with HST.
