During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed on Sep 20 in preparation for the start of the 2011 fall eclipse season: one to activate SCS 29 and one to dump and clear the EPS glitch counters. Chandra passed through the first eclipse of the season (penumbra only) on Sep 21, with nominal power and thermal performance. A real-time procedure was executed on Sep 21 to set the short eclipse flag to "true" in preparation for the second and third eclipses of the season. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of GRB 110915A, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Sep 19, an observation of Swift J1834.9-0846, which is a follow-up to a Target of Opportunity accepted on Aug 24 and observations of MR 2251-178 coordinated with HST. |
