Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 7 June 2013 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Jun 5 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer.

A Chandra press release was issued on Jun 5 as a CfA press release describing observations of the young star, TW Hydrae. By studying TW Hydrae, scientists can observe what our Sun may have been like early in its life. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/press/13_releases/press_060513.html

Of note this week was the release on Jun 4 of CXCDS 10.0 for standard processing, which includes a transition from the Solaris operating system to Linux and to new hardware.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of Mrk 590, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time TOO on May 2 and is coordinated with HST and observations of SDSS J0948+1614 and SDSS J0825+1155 coordinated with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope.
