Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 14 November 2014 9.00am EST

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra press release was issued on Nov 13 as a NASA/MSFC press release describing observations of Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*, for short), the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way. Researchers have found evidence that Sgr A* may be generating neutrinos, tiny particles that have virtually no mass and carry no electric charge. These particles are unusual because they can travel across the Universe without being absorbed or deflected. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/press/14_releases/press_111314.html

The schedule of targets for the next two weeks is shown below and includes observations of PSN J120451.50+265946 and GRB 141028A, which were accepted as Targets of Opportunity on Nov 5 and 11 respectively, and an observation of PSN J12215757+0428185, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time TOO on Nov 4.
